Last Call for Nominations: Rising Scholar Best Paper Award, Due Jan 1, 2017
Only a few days are left to apply for CHPAMS's 2016 Rising Scholar Best Paper Award, which is established to recognize outstanding peer review publications authored by CHPAMS members in 2016. Candidates for this award are registered CHPAMS members who are either current students or within five years since receiving their last academic degrees. CHPAMS membership is free and open to all (online registration: http://www.chpams.org/member-registration/). Please visit CHPAMS website for details on eligibility and required documents. To apply, the nominator must email required application documents to ZLi@chpams.org by January 1, 2017, using a subject line “CHPAMS Best Paper Award application”. CHPAMS will announce the winner(s) in March, 2017. Winner(s) will receive a plaque and a $100 or equivalent reward.
Member’s Corner
Dr. Youfa Wang Named Associate Chair of the Global Health Section of the Chinese Prevention Medical Association
Prof. Youfa Wang, a CHPAMS founder and a former Board Director of CHPAMS, recently was elected as an Associate Chair of the Global Health Section of The Chinese Prevention Medical Association. The Global Health Section, a global health community association based in China, was founded on December 3rd 2016 in Beijing. It aims to facilitate research and collaboration on global health issues in China and worldwide.
Prof. Wang was elected based on his outstanding accomplishment and contributions in his career and work as a nutritional epidemiologist and related to global health and chronic diseases. This is another recent recognition of his expertise and important contributions by one of the most prestigious medical academies in China. Prof Wang is the founding Dean of Global Health Institute at Xi’an Jiaotong University. Over the past 15 years, he has worked at multiple universities in the United States as a Professor, Center Director and Department Chair such as at Johns Hopkins University and State University of New York; and he has been an adjunct professors in multiple universities in China as well. We believe Prof. Wang will contribute to global health development in China exceptionally well in his future efforts.
