President: 陈茁 Zhuo (Adam) Chen, PhD, MS, MMgt

Dr. Zhuo (Adam) Chen is an Associate Professor of Health Policy and Management, College of Public Health, The University of Georgia, and Li Dak Sum Chair Professor in Health Economics, School of Economics, University of Nottingham, Ningbo China. His research has focused on health economics and applied econometrics. He has published more than forty articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics including social determinants of health, forecast combining, and economics of obesity. He received his PhD (2004) in Economics and MS (2002) in Statistics from Iowa State University. He is the Founding Editor of China Health Review and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Family and Economic Issues. He received the 2016 Civilian Award in Diversity Excellence from the Federal Asian Pacific American Council. Dr. Chen served as the Chair of the Planning Committee of the CHPAMS in 2010-2013 and Secretary of CHPAMS in 2014-2016.  He also serves as the President of the Chinese Economists Society (2017-2018).

Secretary: 李峥 Zheng (Jane) Li, PhD, MPH, MS

Dr. Zheng (Jane) Li is a Lead Environmental Health Scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR). She was the President of the Association of Asian and Pacific Islander Employee of CDC/ATSDR (2012-2014). She received a BS in chemistry from Wuhan University, MS in chemistry from Mississippi State University, PhD in Environmental Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology with a minor in environmental health from Emory University, and a MPH in public health practice from the University of South Florida. She served on the Planning Committee of the CHPAMS in 2010-2013 and served as the Director of Public Relations of CHPAMS in 2014-2016.  Dr. Li is serving in her personal capacities.

 

Treasurer: 张琪 Qi (Harry) Zhang, PhD

Dr. Qi (Harry) Zhang is an Associate Professor in the School of Community and Environmental Health at Old Dominion University in the U.S. As a health economist, he has an active research agenda on socioeconomic determinants of health and related health policies in the U.S. and China. He has more than 30 publications in international journals and has been a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on multiple grants funded by National Institutes of Health and US Department of Agriculture. He received his B.A. in economics from Fudan University in 1998 and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Alabama in 2001. Dr. Zhang served as President of CHPAMS in 2014-2016.

 

Director of Fund Raising: 徐东 Dong (Roman) Xu

Roman (Dong) Xu is a PhD student in global health (implementation science) at University of Washington. He is currently engaged in two large studies on mHealth in mental health (the LEAN trial) in Liuyang, Hunan, and public hospital reform in Guizhou province.   Before Roman joined UW, he had hold several professional and leadership positions for a range of organizations including the Chinese Medical Association, Medtronic, Harvard Medical School’s Harvard Medical International, and the China Medical Board.  Roman obtained his master in public policy (health policy) from Harvard University in 2004 and bachelor in medical English from West China University of Medical Sciences in 1996. Roman has been involved in the development of CHPAMS since its earliest discussion in 2008. He served as Treasurer of CHPAMS in 2014-2016.

 

Director of Public Relations: 王亮 Liang Wang, MD, DrPH, MPH

Dr. Liang Wang is an Associate Professor with Tenure in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, College of Public Health, at East Tennessee State University (ETSU). His research focuses on nutrition epidemiology, obesity, health disparities, etc. Dr. Wang has published over 80 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, etc. He is also the reviewer for more than 30 international academic journals. His research has been sponsored by National Institute of Health (NIH). Dr. Wang used to work in fortune 500 companies (including GlaxoSmithKline plc, Tyco International Ltd). In addition, he was the only trainee selected from the US for 2015 Chinese Nutrition Leadership Program (CNLP-5) held by Chinese Nutrition Society (CNS). Dr. Wang has held various leadership positions in the field of public health, including Board Director of China Health Policy and Management Society (CHPAMS), Founding President of the International Chinese Nutrition Young Scholar Network (ICNYSN), Associate Director of China-Tennessee Health Education Training, Chair of Public Relationship Committee of North America Chinese Society for Nutrition (NACSN), etc. He has been awarded for his outstanding leadership and contribution, such as Outstanding Leadership and Service Award, NACSN in 2016, Dean’s Special Recognition Award for University (ETSU) Leadership Faculty Senate in 2017, and Dean’s Special Recognition Award for Service on the Faculty Council in 2017. He was also the Nominee of Faculty Mentor of the Year, Southern Regional Education Board (SREB)-State Doctoral Scholars Program in 2014.

 

Director of Academics: 吴丹虹Marie Ng, PhD

Dr. Marie Ng is a Senior Data Scientist at IBM Watson Health. Prior to joining IBM, she was an Assistant Professor of Global Health at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington. She has also worked in various academic and non-profit institutions around the world including the Karolinska Institutet, University of Hong Kong and UNICEF. Her expertise is in quantitative methods, particularly focusing on developing and applying new techniques for predicting health outcomes and evaluating the impact of population health programs. Marie has published in a number of high impact journals including the Lancet and JAMA. She studied at the University of Southern California, where she received a PhD in Applied Statistics and an MS in Mathematical Statistics. She obtained a BS in Psychology from the University of Washington.

 

Director of Membership: 韩雪松 Xuesong Han, PhD

Dr. Xuesong Han is a cancer epidemiologist and Strategic Director of Health Policy & Healthcare Delivery Research at the American Cancer Society, where she conducts research largely focused on the impact of health insurance and related policies on cancer care and outcomes. Her research interests also include cancer survivorship and health equity. Xuesong received her PhD in Epidemiology & Public Health from Yale University in 2010, and completed a two-year fellowship at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She currently holds an adjunct faculty appointment at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University.

 

President-Elect: 陈希Xi Chen, PhD

Dr. Xi Chen is an Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Economics at Yale University, and a faculty advisor at the Yale-China Association. Chen is a research fellow of IZA, Germany. He has been consulting for United Nations institutions and has served on expert panels in U.S. funding agencies. His research focuses on early childhood development, population aging, health disparities, climate change, and quality of life. Chen receives his Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Cornell University and his M.S. in agricultural economics from Nanjing Agricultural University. Chen's work has been featured in various popular media and recognized through numerous awards, including the Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award of the AAEA (2013).
